Super Bowl XLI also made history for having the first African-American head coach to win and the first African-American coach to lose, namely, Tony Dungy and Lovie Smith. It was also the first time in history the championship game was played in the rain.

Superbowl 41 Entertainment And Logo
Superbowl XLI featured a pre-game show of Cirque du Soleil, Romero Britto and Louie Vega, while Billy Joel sang the national anthem with his own piano accompaniment. That performance went down in history as the only entertainer to sing the national anthem at a Super Bowl twice. Singer Prince performed the halftime show in a performance that many consider to be his best ever, and possibly the best Super Bowl halftime show ever. Only fitting that “Purple Rain” should play at a rain soaked game!
